Nautical Adventure!

26 Apr

Has anyone joined Groupon, Living Social or any other “deal-of-the-day” websites?  Well I am a member of both Groupon and Living Social and I find the best deals!  I bought discounted Yoga classes, $60 for $100 at one of my favorite boutique clothing stores and most recently . . . $14 for a $40 whale watching tour!

Gray Whale migrations can be seen on the Southern California Coastline between October and April.  Being that it is April, and at the end of the migration viewing, I feared that we wouldn’t see any whales.  Then the website said they hadn’t seen any whales in weeks!  When we arrived in Newport Beach to board our tour boat, the people that toured before us saw zero whales!  Not even a dolphin!  Well, it turns out that we saw dolphins AND whales!  Whale watching was on my bucket list so I was so excited to check it off!  So lucky!  Check out pictures of my tour:

Dolphin swimming along our boat. It gave us lots of photo ops! What a ham!

Look closely! The mother Gray Whales back is shown down and to the right of the person standing on the beach. She was migrating with her calf (underwater) north from Baja, Mexico to Alaska.

Our boat!

Lots of waves that day! Good thing we took Dramamine!

Visit Groupon and Living Social for great deals in your area!  Here is another great deal website with night-out deals like concerts, plays, and other fun ideas: Golden ticket.  These are great sites for those of us living on budget but still wanting to have fun!

Adventures in Pet Sitting!

21 Apr
Hi everyone!  Long time no write!
For a MONTH I have been looking forward to pet sitting for my friend Jill’s Cocker Spaniel, Charlie!  He is a rescue that is around 1 year old and is so precious!  He reminds me of my childhood dog that I rescued, Holly.  Charlie is so well behaved and sweet and loves to play!  My friend Emily and I took him on walks around his home in Sherman Oaks and to the beach in Malibu.  Oh, yeah.  And Charlie blew chunks on the way to the beach.  Check out these pics of our adventure!

Charlie waits to see if his parents, Jill and Bret, are coming back home.

Still waiting . . .
